The alterations included a new entrance, exhibition space, offices and a digital studio. It formed part of a new Faculty of the Built Environment in the middle of the busy Oxford Brookes University campus.
The new digital studio contains mobile desks that can house computers and screens for each student. They can be tethered and plugged in to power and data cables dropping down from the ceiling. After use their lids can be closed and locked, securing their contents. At dusk they glow softly.
